TCD-X : The first and unique transcranial Doppler Holter

Ideal transcranial Doppler for prolonged recordings even in non surgical patients

The probe fixation on the patient’s head that looks like a spectacle frame, is lightweight and confortable.

The transcranial Doppler and recorder module is small and battery operated. It is placed in a cross body bag and carried by the patient who remains hands free. The patient can be engaged in normal daily activities.

Should the transcranial Doppler signal become weak, the orientation of the servo-controlled probe is readjusted automatically. This ensures the stability of recordings over time.

Greater efficiency for emboli detection

The current gold standard for emboli detection is human expert and this is very time-consuming.

Since efficiency is a prime concern, the TCD-X emboli detection software (EDS) make easier the verification of each automatically detected emboli.

The EDS shows the list of the emboli.

The user can quickly check the detected emboli by looking and listening at each event.

The EDS provides detailled information on each emboli (time, intensity, emboli velocity, blood velocity, emboli signal relative duration).

Novel insights into embolization
Thanks to its unique features, TCD-X is a powerfull tool that offers new opportunities for emboli detection.

In symptomatic carotid stenosis, the presence of emboli predicts future transient ischemic attack and stroke risk. Whether they have a similar predictive role in asymptomatic stenos is under investigations and the TCD-X has been designed to help answering this question.

The applications of the TCD-X are not restricted to carotid plaques. They also include all unstable wall diseases, endocarditis and decompression illness.

The TCD-X has been developped to improve prediction of stroke risk and better estimate embolic load in therapeutic studies.
